Re: Random memories
Sitting on the benches at Saltcoats station watching folks getting off and getting on the trains, that was my favorite thing of all time when I was a kid. Also standing on the Railway Bridge watching the trains go under.

Atmosphere Sounds.
If anybody went to an old firm game and the opposing team scores its like a big thud, ground shakes for a moment , dust, just a frozen moment and it draws you in.

Brian that's a great shout, I've been in loads of stadiums with brilliant atmospheres. Used to love hampden when it was standing and the cloud of ash that appeared from the west (rangers)end when a goal was scored.brian f wrote:Atmosphere Sounds.

My favourite atmosphere will always (I think) be after faddys goal in Paris. You could hear the combined intake of breath as he hit the ball, then silence until the ball hit the net. Then mayhem, my top memory of any match.
Those wimin were in the nip.
Re: Random memories
A rather unpleasant memory was one day as a teenager coming home from the bowling alley along Sydney Street, a man on a motor bike stopped beside me and gave me a mouthful of obscene, vulgar language for no reason whatsoever. Although in a state of shock I got his number plate and when I arrived home my mother phoned the Police. They came round and asked me to repeat what he had said to be able to charge him but I said I couldn't as it was too disgusting. So they asked me to go down to the Police office (then Green Street )and write down the exact words which I managed to do and the offender was duly repremanded.
