The sound of new born gulls. Very whiny when they are new borns. They follow the adults around who appear to take no interest in them. No help with feeding or anything.

West Sound. Dunno who the guy is on after 7 am. He rambles on but is somehow endearing.

Re: Whit you listening tae right noo?
Just come back in after spending a couple of hours in the garden trying to get it ready for Autumn/winter. It is getting really quite breezy outside (for that read - wind is fairly getting up) and i came into the living room and sat down. Just realised how nostalgic the noise of the wind blowing over the top of the chimney makes me feel. It reminds me of being tucked up in bed on a wet, windy, foggy night in November and listening to the wind in the chimney and the foghorn down Ardrossan harbour. Anyone else remember the foghorn? Wonder when they stopped using it.

Great images !!
The foghorns are still being used by these ships that sit waiting to go off to Hunterston. I am sure I last heard one only about 10 days ago. A great sound, even in the middle of the night.

Listening to the high winds...winter's coming now.
So black in the mornings now.
Just waiting to hear the arrival of the gulls.

Aye your right viv, the fact that the trees are still pretty much in full leaf makes the wind sound much worse.
