hasties of largs

Post by brvhrtjimmy »

I noticed going passed on the bus a few times hasties was closed, but work was goin on inside, i assumed it was renovations they were doing, but when I went passed on the bus today they were still working inside but above the door was home hardware sign, sadly hasties have gone, I don't know if he has retired and there is no one else to take over, but that's an institution gone, im almost 70 and I remember hasties when I was a schoolboy, you mentioned largs and hasties came to mind very sad .

They closed xmas eve. Wrights hardware will open shortly.

Check their facebook page. They offer interesting details about how they came to be.

They did retire. Duncans I believe. Online competition did not help either I heard.
