When I was a wee boy I wore glasses which were quite thick.
As a result I was called skelly, a derogatory term for poor eyesight or cross-eyed

Morag refers to the wee boy wearing gallous braces. In Killie when I was a boy braces were GALLOUSES. Whether gallous or not.

Don't know if this has been posted yet, but the word 'Huddery' came to me as I was going through the latest ones. Someone was huddery looking, like unkempt or cold ?
