Re: wasps

I see someone mentioned moths. I have just moved house and discovered huge bare patches in the carpets and all throughout the flat. There had been a massive moth infestion in the carpets a couple of years ago which had been treated. We didn't find out until we bought the flat. We have had to replace...

Re: Preventing bad luck

I always say good morning to a magpie and to mrs magpie. I don't put shoes on the table that is a dissappointment and only sing happy birthday at the dinner table. Two teaspoons in a cup means a christening. How sad this all this my only excuse is that my father was Irish. Poppy

Re: ardeer rec stevenston

Hi Sorry don't have any photos, just memories of your dad taking a pass out from work to go and see Bill Haley and the Comets. Tommy and Sheena were always in the height of fashion and Tommy wore thick crepe soled shoes.

Re: ardeer rec stevenston

My husband's cousin Norman Reid played base. He emigrated to America. Tompy Bell played the piano and Laurie Martin played drums. The group was called the Red Robins. I hope his memory is correct. Sorry he doesn't remember a singer.

Re: Ardrossan Co-op

My sister Annie Gordon served her time as a dressmaker upstairs in the co-op. She worked beside I think Mrs Donnelly and Annie------(she lived in Central Avenue and emigrated to Australia).

Re: Busbie Drive Ardrossan

Hi SC The house in the picture is definately No13. I lived in the other corner house both leading into Central avenue shops. I think we left Hunter Avenue in 1979/80. I am sure the young woman was still living with her parents in Busbie Drive until her allocation to Hunter Avenue. I hadn't spoken to...

Re: Busbie Drive Ardrossan

Hi Del80 I wonder if the Clarke family moved out when I lived there and this other family moved in. The younger sister was not as old as me. When we moved from Hunter Avenue this young woman came to my house and bought my carpets as I think she had been alocated a house in the street. I remember she...

Re: Busbie Drive Ardrossan

Hi Del80
I lived at 11 Busbie Drive from around 1949 until 1961. I remember 2 sisters living at No13 but unfortunately I can't remember their names. Poppy
