Really shocked to see the sea coming over the prom and on to the road. We have been so lucky on the east coast today is dry with no wind. Winter has arrived with a vengeance.

I also went to Miss Hughes for piano lessons and I still can't play. I think it was half a crown a lesson might be wrong though. Wish now I had practiced more.

So sad to read about Norma. I knew her when she worked in Ardeer and we often frequented the same dance halls. I was often asked if she was my sister as we were the same age lived in Ardrossan and shared the same surname. A really nice person and so good looking. poppy

Yes you're right Meg. Dr McCann held his surgeries in the front room of his house in Ardrossan Road until the early 60's. I remember there was no receptionist and everyone sat around this huge table and hoped they remembered when it was their turn. the Dr's were McCann, Leahy and Griffen.

The chip shop that belonged to the granny was definately in Barr Place. I lived across from it and used to take a bag of hard bread for the hens and got a bag of chips in return. Yes it was Eugene Del Greco who had the restaurant he made great lasagne. Da Prato had a cafe across from the Co operativ...

The Brogi family lived at the top of Glasgow Street. The father was called Dama and his wife Sarah. The had Rosa who married Vincent Carrino the hairdresser. Sadie who worked in her Gran's chip shop in Barr Place and married Albert carrino (Vincent's brother). They had a chip shop in Glasgow Street....
