Other Murray boats were 1 Fulmar GN , ID number 91653, built by J McKenzie & co Leith in 1885 , owned by Michael Murray of Saltcoats from 1896-1901. 2 SS Isabella ID number unknown , built by the Culzean shipbuilding company in Troon in 1886 owned by John and Michael Murray of Saltcoats from 188...

There used to 2 houses on the harbour the one which is still standing was I believe the harbourmasters house . he had a office bottom left and lived upstairs , the bottom right was the customs office , along the harbour nearer the shore was a larger building which was the smoke house for the kippers...

Springside is probably the worst village in Kilmarnock district , but you will see that when you visit , a freind of mine who was lucky enough to move away , once told me that the locals say its "twinned" with the Gaza strip , I would think thats pretty close .
