George
My grandfather George Cook played for Ardrossan Celtic. He was their goalkeeper at one time.
He was the son of Robert Cook who found the sarcophegus on Castle Hill.

Thanks for the info Penny Tray, Bert Miller sounds right. Also went to Pat Erskine for short back and sides, whom I much preferred.

Re: Changes in Ardrossan in Recent Years
The photo of Princess street across from where the Eglinton Hotel was is where I used to go for a haircut in the 50's. I have forgotten the barbers name. Does anyone remember?

Re: Harvies Park
I Remember playing pick-up fitba games there in the early 50s. Once while making a tunnel into the sand behind the houses on Eglinton rd. A woman came out to caution us that a wean had done the same thing the day before and the tunnel had collapsed onto him and he was taken to hospital. I don't know...

Thanks Penny, however I am mistaken it is Mary Marshall not Mary Milligan. Both these lassies can be seen in the Eglinton school photo 1953 (my class) in the school photos section of Threetowners sorry for the error.
