George, The farmers along the North Shore in Ardrossan reguarly gathered it for spreading on their fields, particularly, it seems to me, their tattie fields. The thought obviously crossed my mind and maybe I've got my rose tinted specs on again but I don't recall seaweed coming ashore at this location? I'll bow to George's greater knowledge however.
