Re: Robert Reid died Cuba 1850

Hi there Thanks very much for your reply. The photograph that you link to is one that I took and sent to my friend Tony de la Cova who is a professor of Latin American studies in the US and has written much about filibustering. He has been compiling a list of the men that were involved in the attack...

Robert Reid died Cuba 1850

Hello there, I wonder if anyone has any information at all regarding the members of the Reid family commemorated on the following stone in the parish graveyard on Manse Street. I already have record of marriage of Robert Reid Snr and Ann Smillie in 1808 along with birth record of a daughter Elizabet...

We used to play there - particularly after it closed down, there was a wee railway down the drift as far as the big iron gate that guarded the opening for the underground tunnel. Th...

Grave Inscriptions Saltcoats Kirkyard - Reid

Does anyone know if the grave inscriptions from the stones in Saltcoats old Kirk yard have been recorded anywhere? I noticed the last time I was home that the stones have all been laid flat around the edge of the ground and are suffering the effects of this. There used to be a stone with some Reids ...

Sarah Dillon

Hi Jim, I think Sarah McCreadie (Dillon), may have been the neice of my great grandmother, also Sarah Dillon (1869 - 1962) who was married to Saltcoats businessman and fish merchant, Robert Reid. Terry Dillon, my great granmothers brother had a daughter Sarah who married a McCreadie. I think some of...
