In the ASH BMD's around 1911 some of my ancestors died at Springvale hospital. Didn't notice any births there!

Many Happy Returns, Murray.
I remember the day you were born when I took the bus to Kilmarnock to collect your sister and take her back to Saltcoats so that your mum and dad could go to the hospital.

Re: Rudolph Hess - Ardrossan

There was a story going around at the time that Hess was looking for Arran , home of his friend the Duke of Hamilton.
Don't know how true this was. Margaret

Re: Music (of sorts)

Really liked the lullaby, brought a tear because it reminded me of my mother's "party piece", The Maiden's Prayer".
Margaret. Keep up the good work!

Re: A Stroll round 1960s Saltcoats

Susan Around 1946 or 47 I was at a birthday party in one of those semi-detached houses but cannot remember if it was the one next to the church. The birthday girl was Cissie Taylor, daughter of Maggie,(nee Lennox) Taylor. I believe Maggie was related to my mother. Maggie was an expert seamstress, mu...

Once, the girl in front of me checking out her books sounded Scottish so I said 'where are you from?' She sa...

Re: Threetowns schoolboy during the war

PT, Thanks for the memories. I remember the Fullerton brothers. We often saw them carry their boat over to the shore.I had remembered it as a canoe. Maybe that was before the war. My father died 1939 after a long illness (cancer). He was visited regularly by the Rev. Symington and by the nuns who ha...
