Further east, beyond the site of the Pipersheugh hamlet and on Dubbs Road is a marking for the site of finding a ' st...

Re: Ardrossan 1910 - image question
I have been wondering since I first seen that photo many years ago what the shop is on the right hand side. Not the grocers on the corner, but the shop down from the corner. Ah sc, I love your typos ... they beat mine every time. A guy from Thailand who made millions selling neckties - would that make him a Thai-coon. But what's a Coony tant? or a Coonit Ant? Was Robert D Findlay not also a loan-arranger, who seemed dodgy when he started wearing a mask and calling his h...

Re: After the Referendum - Topic
Irrespective of their personal qualities and attributes there are many politicians who have the 'Richard Nixon Guilty Looking factor' which does their Public Presentational Appearance no favours at all and are best kept in the back room away from the cameras. Sad state of affairs when we make seriou...

Re: Hillhead House - Kilbirnie
sorry vivc113, I mistyped the dates .. it was 1855 to 1857 ( just two years ) the period covered by the survey for the Ordnance Survey Name Book. Allen was the proprietor at that time. For some reason I could not get deeper into the system as I could before so I only got the brief details. While I w...

Re: After the Referendum - Topic
Question Time on BBC tonight came from Liverpool but had Alec Salmond on the panel. The Tory representative publicly admitted that Cameron's Vow cannot be adhered to in practical terms. Hands up anyone who believed any of the Unionist propaganda - they've just admitted they fooled you. All the FEAR ...
