Re: District Nurses
The district nurse's house was in Shore Road Stevenston - don't know the number but was the 2nd or 3rd terrace house on the way to beach

I think the girl 3rd from left with long dark hair is Jean Scott - she was in same year as me at Ardrossan Academy

Re: SCHOOL 'HOUSES'
Unfortunately there were no group photos taken at Ardeer while I was there. It was all individual ones which were great for the proud parents but made us all cringe. I don't think there were group ones taken at secondary school either - unless you were in the sports events. Such a shame!

The lady standing at no 18 (not 22) could possibly be Mrs Scott. No 22 is the upper flat in the next building an...

Re: Police Houses
Not sure but I have a very vague recollection that there was actually a flat above Stevenston police station in Station Road which was occupied by the Lockharts before they moved to Boglemart Street? Maybe a figment of my imagination tho. Then there were several police houses at the Villas. I rememb...

Re: Stevenston Higher Grade 1960-1970
Can't believe I forgot Auld Miz - Mrs Milne who taught French. She also taught my mother who's now in her 80s. Although she was nearly retirement age when she taught me, she certainly hadn't lost her reputation as a bit of a battleaxe. Also Mrs Hinshelwood - Latin. She too was elderly (at least she ...
