Additional Information:
Son of John Campbell Taylor (dynamite worker at Modderfontein Dynamite Factory South Africa) and Mary Law Taylor (nee Stevely), of 25A Central Avenue, Kemptonpark, Johannesburg, South Africa. Robert was 5'10'' tall, fair complexion, blue eyes and fair hair. He had a scar on the left knee and his forehead. He was the youngest of six children. Robert was first posted at TPR, S.A.A.C. Kafferskraal on the 13 Apr 1943. He AWOL'd a few times. He was admonished for one time then, given 7 Days C.B. on another occasion. Robert's occupation as a civilian was a Lorry driver and handyman.
My research indicates during either late April/early May 1899, a James STEVELY married one Mary ROY at the Saltcoats Town Hall.
Is it possible when she returned to Scotland and having no residence, Mary resided with James and Mary; her parents?? In 1906, Margaret was born and named Margaret Roy TAYLOR.
I assume you restricted your search for her return by 1912 due to a S.A. birth that year? May I suggest searching ALL S.A. ports, as it was not uncommon for cargo vessels to carry passengers, as remains the case even today. Customs records may be your best bet here. Are you searching for her as "Immigrant" or "Resident"?
