Sorry about the credits! But the mystery has been solved. Your fellow Mega Heid Poster Penny Tray found the first marriage in the local rag at 11 Sep 1914 of Agnes Nellis to John Beveridge (who was killed in action a year later), and you have given me her second marriage to William Breckenridge in 1921. She then emigrated in 1926. Thanks so much for solving this conundrum! In the CWGC site they had her down as Agnes NELLIE Breckenridge. Nellie also appeared as her (sole) name in the newspaper announcement of his death.

"SON OF JOHN AND SUSAN BEVERIDGE, OF ARDEER SQUARE, STEVENSTON HUSBAND OF AGNES NELLIE BRECKENRIDGE, FORMERLY BEVERIDGE), OF 14, PARKEND RD., SALTCOATS, AYRSHIRE."
It's all there in fact except we misunderstood the context, not realising that this information must date from after her remarriage in 1921.
Thank you also for the other details of her and her husband's death in America.
